Project "From Tehran to Toronto" initiated by Mehdi Rezania is a music journey that explores the musical creation of 3 composers of the same generation but from the different musical backgrounds who express their musical ideas with the same ensemble: string quartet.

One compoer (Mani Jafarzadeh) lives in Tehran and never has been in Toronto
One composer (Jason Doel) lives in Toronto and never has been in Tehran
One composer (Mehdi Reania) has lived in both cities and has studied music in both Iranian and western art music traditions.

In addition the Baarbad Trio (Mehdi Rezania, santur
Bamdad Fotouhi, tombak & daf Amir Samimi, percussions) will perform a selection of their original music, all in the genre of contemporary Persian classical music.
